The Harris
Museum in Preston is a Grade 1 listed building. It
faces the Historic Flag Market and houses the Central
Library and a free Gallery and Collection. The
building has the largest gallery space in Lancashire
ans as such is a significant art venue in the North
East of England. The building itself is one of the
nation's most important buildings. It was completed in
1893 following the donation of a large sum from a
local man.
We've lit the
building with LED sources to reduce energy consumption and
also to reduce the need for maintenance. Our scheme
replaces an older less decorative scheme and uses ten
percent of the energy previously used. The scheme also uses
smaller light sources thant those used previously, as a
result a lot less light is wasted. Not only does the new
scheme perform better enviornmentally but the architectural
effect is much improved.
